DRAFFENVILLE – The Marshall County Marching Marshals and their Band Boosters are excited to announce information about this year’s competitive marching band season. Mr. Payton, Mr. Roberts and the staff of the Marching Marshals have designed a very exciting production entitled Cirque. Musical selections are taken from the Cirque du Soliel productions, Quidam, La Nouba and Totum. The original music was written by Benoit Jutras, Guy Dubac and Marc Lessard. The music was arranged by John Fannin, Matt Hightower and Marching Marshals alumni, Josh Powell.

The Marching Marshals will be performing at all home football games and in two different states during this competition season. The band kicks off the competition season at the University of Tennessee at Martin on September 13. Following this contest, the band will host their annual Starfest competition on September 20. The lineup for Starfest includes: Ballard Memorial High School, Crittenden County High School, Mayfield High School, Union City (TN) High School, Caldwell County High School and Madisonville North Hopkins High School. The Marching Marshals will perform in exhibition at 7:15. The opening ceremonies for Starfest will begin at 5:15, with the first band performing at 5:30. Admission is 5 dollars and a concession stand is available.

Following Starfest the band will travel to Caldwell County High School and Christian County High School both on September 27. After the Fall Break Holiday the band will travel to Murray State University to participate in Festival of Champions on October 18. On Thursday October 24th will be our community performance “A Night with the Marching Marshals.” We will be celebrating The 40th Anniversary of the Band! Following this performance, the Marching Marshals will conclude their 2013 competition season at the Vanderbilt Marching Invitational held at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee on October 25.

We hope you can find the opportunity to attend one of our performances this season. As always, the Marching Marshals appreciate and thank you for your support throughout our competition season.
